Over the years I’ve developed a deep appreciation for the birds that call our brackish bay home. They’re always there to greet you, by the dock, by the pier, on the ferry, or overhead. They effortlessly soar above our shores and their sounds have become synonymous with the sea. I’ve learned a lot about coastal birds through observation, but the more I photograph them, the more I’m in awe of their bravery, beauty, and boldness. The coast is their kingdom, the sea their sanctuary.
